New Hanover County is partnering with the New Hanover Disaster Coalition, Cape Fear Food Council, Crisis Cleanup, and other community partners to ensure residents receive assistance with storm-related needs.

The Emergency Public Information Hotline (910-798-6800) is currently operational and assisting residents with questions and access to storm-related resources.

Crisis Cleanup connects individuals with volunteers to provide cleanup assistance after a storm like Hurricane Isaias. Beginning Thursday, August 6, residents can call 844-965-1386 to request assistance with cutting fallen trees, tarping, mold mitigation and drywall, flooring, and appliance removal.

When volunteering, remember these safety tips to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Remember the 3 Ws:
    • Wear a face covering
    • Wait six feet from others, and maintain this distance while doing volunteer work
    • Wash your hands regularly
  • Avoid physical contact with others outside of your household
  • Take regular breaks to wash your hands, stay hydrated and rest
