New Hanover County Government Offices and Attractions Closing Tuesday at Noon

New Hanover County, NC – In preparation for Hurricane Florence, the following agencies and services of New Hanover County will close at noon on Tuesday, September 11 and will remain closed until further notice:

  • New Hanover County offices and government buildings
  • New Hanover County Libraries
  • Senior Resource Center
  • Airlie Gardens
  • Arboretum
  • Cape Fear Museum
  • New Hanover County Parks

New Hanover County’s Landfill will be open on Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., and then from 6:30 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, September 12.

Court houses in New Hanover and Pender Counties will close at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday and will remain closed for the rest of the week.

The Board of Elections meeting scheduled for Tuesday and the Board of Commissioners agenda review meeting scheduled for Thursday have been canceled.

At this time, residents and visitors should be completing their hurricane preparation and evacuation plans.
